Abbey CBS Tipperary Town
Located in Tipperary Town, overlooking the River Ara, Glen of Aherlow and Galty Mountains.
The school was founded by the Christian Brothers and is dedicated to achieving high results from their all boys day school. The school has an excellent record in achievement and aims to develop the ‘whole person’. It also has a very good record in assisting students gain entry to University Education.
Facilities:
The school offers all the resources necessary for a modern well equipped school such as a new dedicated I.T. room. Many students received top grades including student Oliver Power who was first in Ireland in his Leaving certificate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry in 2001. Also in 2003 student Denis Coffee achieved the top grade A1 for Honours Chemistry. Outdoors, there are a range of playing pitches and the school has a big emphasis on the sporting development of the person. The Transition Year students present a major musical performance in the Excel Arts and Cultural Centre each year which is one of the highlights of the school cultural year.
